Mobile Email
Active are able to offer complete implementation and support for your Blackberry, Windows mobile or iPhone devices.
Even though they are all capable of retrieving your emails, calendar and contacts, there are key differences to the devices and technologies, which we have briefly outlined below.
Blackberry
Currently the market leader, Blackberry devices are simple and easy to use. Should you have an existing Microsoft Exchange email server, then there is no need to worry about additional hardware cost, as Blackberry’s Enterprise software, can be installed easily on your existing email server, allowing for real-time synchronisation of emails, calendars and contacts.
Windows Mobile
Windows mobile is available on a wider range of devices, and offers built-in support for Microsoft’s Exchange server, using ActiveSync technology. Therefore there is no need to purchase additional software or hardware. Setup is simple; however the devices are not as easily manageable as a Blackberry or iPhone, and have less configuration options. A key advantage that Blackberry and iPhones have, is security. Most notably, if the devices are stolen or lost, then they can be remotely wiped or disabled.
iPhone
The key difference with the iPhone in terms of usability is the touch screen interface. With earlier iPhones, retrieving emails, calendars and contacts was not as easy as the Blackberry or Window mobile. The new iPhone 3G, makes use of Microsoft’s ActiveSync push technology along with Apple’s iPhone 2.0 software for easy integration with Microsoft’s Exchange Server.
Email hosting
Should you require the benefits of mobile messaging technology, but do not have a server, or would like to outsource this service, then Active are able to provide a reliable hosted email service. We will scan your emails for spam and viruses using industry leading software, and the data will be securely stored and backed up.
As the pricing varies, dependent on the size of the business, please contact us for further information.
