What is Microsoft 365? Previously called Office 365, it is a cloud based subscription service that includes Microsoft Office applications, cloud storage and other features depending on your plan. There are plans suitable for individuals, small or midsize businesses and large enterprises, as well as education and not-for-profit organisations.
The main feature of Microsoft 365 is that it is subscription based, unlike Office 2019 which is sold as a one-time purchase. This means that with Microsoft 365 you’ll always have the latest features, fixes and security updates at no extra cost. It also means you don’t have the relatively large initial purchase cost or need to pay another full licence fee in the future when you want to upgrade.
